Welcome to my site! I am so glad you are here!
My name is Becca. I have many interests, and most of them will be talked about on this blog. I focus on teaching music, teaching Children’s Church, vocal music, and reading. I also love to (attempt) to play the cello, painting, and my two German Shepherds.
Where do I go?
If you scroll over to the blog page, you can find all of my recent posts about the above listed things. Try typing something into the search bar if you are looking for specific information. Head over to my Resources page to find my favorite of everything.
Why do I write about teaching elementary music when I just started?
If you read my about page, you will find that this is my first year teaching. I decided to blog for a few reasons:
- I use the blog as a way to reflect on my teaching. I can talk about what I have learned and how I have improved.
- It helps other people know that they are not alone! A lot of teachers have crazy classes. And it’s ok. Learn about how to manage them better here and here.
- It is fun. Finishing a blog post makes me feel like I have accomplished something. After a full day of teaching (and sometimes more like babysitting), it is nice to accomplish something. Even if no one ever reads my blog, at least it makes me feel good!
How did I pick my topics?
I made a list of all of my interests. I am one of those people that just loves to do everything. I always say my husband collects collections, and I collect hobbies. I love to paint, sing, play cello, read, SCUBA dive, and scrapbook. Then I wrote possible post ideas, and the two longest were both teaching! I love teaching Children’s Church, and I love teaching music. I may not be the most experienced, but I am passionate.
